There will be an Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) come 2 May, Saturday, where all AWARE members will get a chance to vote.

When the news first appear on the ST, the senior writer (and a senior writer no less!) who made that report took some effort to dig up letters written previously by the new AWARE committee, and even gone as far as digging into which church they attended, where they work et al and made this matter sounded like a conservative move to grab power. Why did he pursue this line of reporting is beyond me. I hardly even see half that effort in following on the rats and cleanliness issue with regard the Geylang Serai Temporary Mkt incident.
Once that article see the light of day, the Internet has been almost one sided in their stand against the new AWARE ExCo, and all of these criticism way before they have even started any work or chart the path for AWARE, all based on the assumption that they are conservatives and anti-LGBT. I must ask, what has their anti-LGBT stand got any relation with what AWARE stands for? Is if fair to assume that the new ExCo is going to use AWARE as an anti-LGBT platform and bash them?
I leave it to you to judge.

Come on, if they have nothing to hide, it doesn't matter how much effort is put into investigating this saga.
The reason why this had aroused so much anger and attention is the majority of Singaporeans' common belief is the public domain should remain secular. If one has any religious belief, he should just keep it within his religious groups. There really is no need to 'monitor' the affairs of a secular society for women of ANY faiths and sexual orientation for ONE YEAR. There is no need for a coup to push one's fundamentalist agenda across a secular society and dominate all its key posts.
